We are delighted that Katharina Hentsch is joining our team at ODE with immediate effect!

With her extensive experience in planning and project management - particularly in residential, commercial and civil engineering - she brings valuable expertise to our team. In recent years, she has worked in renowned architectural firms as well as in a construction company and is very familiar with all planning phases - from design to realisation.

Her in-depth expertise in the field of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a particular asset. Katharina has played a key role in the development and implementation of BIM standards and digital planning processes and is experienced in using tools such as Archicad, Revit, Rhino, Solibri, Twinmotion and many more.

In short: versatile, tech-savvy and a real asset to our team.

Six representatives from ODE were on site at BIM Globe 2025, Austria's leading event for the digitalisation of the construction and real estate industry. The event featured exciting presentations, including keynotes from buildingSMART International, Siemens Austria and IKEA, as well as practical case studies on CO₂ analyses, BIM-supported energy monitoring and digital procurement.

ODE's participation underlines its commitment to BIM innovations and strengthens networking with the specialist community.

Side note: All of the people pictured from our team are at least BIMcert Foundation-certified, two of them are even Certified Trainers - the highest level of training in the field of openBIM.

Our ODE team grabbed their skis and snowboards and rounded off the working day with some floodlit skiing at Semmering! ????️⛷️????

In a pleasant atmosphere on the floodlit piste, the focus was on skiing together, good conversation and short breaks. A welcome opportunity to actively round off the day and strengthen the team dynamic.

We are already looking forward to the next adventure together!

ODE in Slovenija 2024

Just like last year, our team was once again travelling in Slovenia. We started on Wednesday with a visit to various sections of the 2TDK project (Gabrovica & Vinjan Viaduct and Tunnel 2), where we gained valuable insights into the progress and challenges of this impressive construction project.

Thursday and Friday were dedicated to team building. A boat trip along the beautiful Slovenian coast provided the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery. We also used the time for various activities that promoted team cohesion and further improved collaboration within the group.

We are proud to be part of such outstanding construction projects that make a significant contribution to the infrastructure and development of the region. A big thank you to 2TDK, Elea iC d.o.o., Kolektor Construction and Yapı Merkezi for their hospitality!

ODE-Team goes Lasertag & Pizza 

We are pleased to announce that all ODE employees have now achieved at least the buildingSMART International Pcert Foundation level! Thanks to our buildingSMART Austria certified trainers Dario Gaudart and Björn Silberbauer we were able to organise the training in-house.

By passing the standardised buildingSMART International exam, we were able to officially confirm our knowledge from our daily project work.

Drone flight for the new Wiener Linien building

Last week we had the opportunity to operate one of our drones on the site for the construction of a new technical/office building for Wiener Linien at Baldassgasse.

We photogrammetrically recorded the construction site and the surrounding area and created a georeferenced mesh from this. We achieved this georeferencing by measuring the ground control points with an RTK rover.

The result is used in combination with Google Tiles and the IFC models for optimal visualisations and studies, such as sun position analyses.

ODE at the Construction Congress 2024

On 25. & 26. April it was time again. The construction congress of the Österreichische Bautechnik Vereinigung with more than 50 lectures and over 100 exhibitors took place in the Austria Centre Vienna. We were represented by seven people. We were particularly pleased that some of the projects we are involved in were featured in the presentations. Among other things, Gudrun Senk explained the relevance of openBIM for the sustainable planning and construction of a workshop building.
The FH Campus - House of Health Science project was also highlighted and as part of the presentation of the ÖBB framework plan by Christina Rebernik, the projects Werndorf - Spielfeld-Straß, Schaftenau - Knoten Radfeld, direct connection Horn, Wien Hütteldorf and Schleife Ebenfurth were presented, among others.

Many thanks for the successful organisation and to all participants for the exciting discussions and opportunities for exchange. We are already looking forward to the Construction Congress 2026!

Successful implementation of 4D openBIM in the major 2TDK project!

The IFC models are linked to a conventional construction schedule via element filters. In the event of changes to the models or the schedule, the simulation only needs to be updated, thus avoiding time-consuming manual updates. Responsibility for the model lies with the planner, responsibility for the schedule with the contractors.
We are proud to be in charge of the BIM coordination on the execution side of this important infrastructure project.

In January, the majority of our team, as well as friends from other companies, spent a long weekend in Schladming. From skiing and snowboarding to curling, good food and partying, there was something for everyone!

New infrastructure openBIM project - Franz Josefs Bahn Paket 2

The Franz-Jofsefs-Bahn is of regional importance as it connects the Waldviertel to Vienna and the central region of Lower Austria. The infrastructure project is divided into two main areas: the sectional double-track expansion of the Franz-Josefs-Bahn and the direct connection to Horn.
The project aims to modernize and improve the rail connection. The double-track expansion in sections and the direct connection to Horn create optimal conditions for a better timetable offering in the region. The BIM method is intended to ensure efficient planning and implementation of the project to achieve the project goals. This has a positive impact on regional development and ensures better connections to the greater Vienna area.

News from the openBIM project 2TDK

At the Vinjan Viaduct, the connection of the lintel segments has begun! A base section of 7.5 meters is first created, followed by 9 sections of 5 meters each on both sides. The spans are between 60 and 100 meters and the pillars are up to 55 meters high. Construction of the viaduct began in March 2022 and the superstructure will be completed by the end of the year.

We are pleased about the rapid progress on the construction site!

openBIM in practice!

At this year's SOLID conference, we were able to present the openBIM, Allianz and openBooks project Rohbaustollen Angath together with Roland Arnold from BeMo Tunnelling. Many thanks to Thomas Pöll and the team of SOLID - Fachmagazin for the invitation and organisation!

On behalf of the ÖSTU-STETTIN Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH  consortium and BeMo Tunnelling, we were able to take over the on-site BIM coordination for the ÖBB project Rohbaustollen Angath. As part of the alliance agreement, we were able to develop a continuous process together with the consortium partners, ÖBB and ÖBA in order to create parametric BIM models from data digitally recorded on the construction site, which are used for controlling, object documentation and handover to maintenance.

The 2TDK project, in which our services include not only BIM coordination but also coordination of the preparation of the BIM execution planning, review and coordination of the BIM models, as well as preparation of the data input for 4D and 5D calculations and simulations, was presented on the Slovenian television station "TV Koper-Capodistria". In this programme you can see, among other things, the construction process simulation we created from 00:13 onwards.
We are very pleased to be able to make our contribution to this extensive and complex infrastructure project and have the greatest respect for the hard work that is carried out here on site every day.

We visited Slovenia in June. We started on Wednesday with our arrival in Ljubljana and a visit to the Rog and Ilirija construction sites. The following day we visited various sections of the 2TDK construction site. The 2TDK project comprises a series of impressive bridge structures and tunnels.

We are proud to be part of such outstanding construction projects and would like to thank 2TDK, Elea iC d.o.o., Kolektor Construction and Yapı Merkezi as well as the teams from Rog, Ilirija and 2TDK for their hospitality.

On 21 February 2023, ASFINAG presented the conversion and new construction of the A9 toll stations, in which we are taking over the BIM management together with iC consulenten ZT GesmbH, to the media.

Marija Babic and Mario Müller were able to support the presentation with a video visualisation and brought the BIM models to life using VR glasses.
